Papillion Chiropractic Introducing Foot Bath Detox
Event on 2012-05-19 00:00:00
Foot Detox Bath:
Every day we absorb a variety of toxins from the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink. No matter how healthy our lifestyle, it is very difficult to avoid environmental pollutants and heavy metals, as well as preservatives, pesticides, sulfates, nitrates, and hormones in food. Smoking and drinking also loads the body with damaging substances and carcinogens.
Why detoxify with foot baths? Because each foot has over 2,000 pores, more than anywhere else on your body. Enjoy a relaxing foot bath and achieve your maximum health potential by ridding yourself of unhealthy substances that are difficult to avoid in our everyday lifestyles.
The response of a rebalanced body is to excrete any excess toxins via the kidneys, liver, bowels and skin. This process not only occurs DURING a detox footbath session, but also AFTER a treatment. The footbath triggers the body’s lymphatic system and continues to detoxify for the next 24 to 48 hours. The entire process takes approximately 30 minutes for adults and is completely safe to use.
The ionic technique of cleansing through feet provides a full-body purge of all vital organs, resulting in reduced menopause symptoms, menstrual cramps, sexual health problems, skin problems, acne, sleep problems, restlessness, stress, toothaches, wrinkles, aches and pains and yeast infections. The internal cleansing can also assist in faster disease healing and injury recovery.
Because of poor diet and high stress, we tend to accumulate and store excessive quantities of toxins and overall waste products. During a 30-minute session, the ions enter your body and begin to neutralize these tissue acid wastes.
Papillion Chiropractic, P.C. offers advanced ionic detoxifying foot baths for you and your family that will leach unhealthy toxins, heavy metals, and other impurities from your body. Give us a call or stop in to find out how we can help you!

Oxygen Bar, a Breath of Fresh Air for Sydney
Event on 2012-05-19 10:00:00
Sydneysiders can now smell the Lavender, Eucalyptus or Jasmine, not at one of the city’s many florists, but at Australia’s first ready-to-breathe oxygen bar, recently opened at Darling Harbour.
The O2 Bar Oxygen Station has over 15 exciting scents to be breathed for up to 15 minutes at a time for maximum effect. Coffee lovers can grab an airborne cappuccino, or follow their nose to the fresh scent of vanilla bean, coconut or lime via the Bar’s many aroma infusers.
The best part, 02 visitors receive a direct hit of 90 percent oxygen with each aromatic breath. Oxygen in our air typically offers just 21 percent, but at a higher concentration oxygen can create feelings of increased energy, refreshment, and stress relief. Greater concentration, increased memory and athletic performance after oxygen sessions are also commonly reported.
Oxygen bars have been a huge success overseas, particularly the United States, Japan and in large cities, providing an escape from pollutants, allergens and impurities found in air. Oxygen is also revered for its anti-aging properties.
Not just for health lovers, oxygen is an effective detoxifier getting a reputation for offering a faster way out of dreaded hangovers. Say goodbye to late night booze munchies, or breakfast kebabs. Party lovers can get back on their feet in no time, by flooding the body with calorie free oxygen to overcome a hangover.
Frequent fliers will also appreciate a dose of 90 percent pure to restore their depleted levels of oxygen, the main cause of Jetlag. And stress heads will benefit from taking a deep breath of oxygen or ten, to repair the body’s impaired ability to properly take in and utilise oxygen when stressed.
90 percent oxygen requires no sugars, caffeine, shakes or crashing when the effects wear off. Oxygen is a natural and harmless way to rebalance the body’s oxygen levels for faster recovery and increased vitality. 02 is also a relaxing way to stop and smell the roses, tangerines or watermelon.
Sydney’s first O2 Bar is open seven days a week from 10am until late. A hit of oxygen costs per minute, with 15 minutes just the right amount of time to feel recharged and rejuvenated.
O2 Bar has eight oxygen stations attended by O2 tenders who provide disposable cannulas to each visitor to place around their nose. Free i-pad access and water is offered to visitors who want more activity while they breathe.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 16, 2012
According to the National Weather Service, California is on track for drought conditions to ?persist and intensify? this summer. Keeping a Bay Area landscape architect on his staff, Chris Jacobson, one of the most creative horticulturists in the state and founder of GardenArt Group, says excessive water use during California?s dry summers puts a strain on the fragile environment. With the help of Jacobson?s ten useful techniques, gardeners can grow a drought resistant garden while conserving water.
?Both Bay Area garden design professionals and do-it-yourself weekend warriors should be knowledgeable about this area?s Mediterranean climate and the effect plants and water use have on our eco system,? said Chris Jacobson. ?This information will keep gardens looking beautiful and sustainable while conserving water, perhaps our greatest natural resource.?
Jacobson?s blended passions of horticultural sensibility, environmentalism and art led to the creation of GardenArt Group, which has been the vanguard of water use creativity. For the past 25 years, the full service garden design and landscape architectural group has been devising models for new Bay Area landscaping plans and gardens that better fit the area?s climate and water supply limitations.
Jacobson offers the following ten water-saving recommendations for Bay Area gardens:
#1 Zone or Cluster Plants with Similar Water Requirements
By grouping plants with similar water needs, you not only can keep water to the minimum requirement, but you also don?t risk drowning plants that require only scant amounts of water.
#2 Reduce or Remove Lawns
Grass?typically the largest water bug in California yards?can be replaced with a meadow of drought-resistant grasses, bulbs and low perennials. When considering the continuation of a lawn, it often helps to ask yourself questions, like: Is that massive lawn used for anything? Do the kids play on it? Is it used frequently for picnics? If the answer is no, replacing the lawn with alternative grasses or plants that require less water is probably a good choice.
#3 Flush Out Drip Irrigation Systems Annually
Drip irrigation systems should be cleaned out once a year, and spring is the ideal time. Once installed, drip systems require little maintenance, but they must be flushed out regularly, getting rid of any dirt or other particles that get into the system and ensuring water flows smoothly and hits the target areas correctly.
#4 Incorporate Succulent and Rock Gardens into the Landscape
Replacing lawns or other thirsty plants with succulent and rock gardens in areas of your outdoor environment reduces water demand and maintenance. Such gardens also add a modern and stylish look to landscapes.
#5 Mulch
The use of organic or mineral mulch helps retain moisture and maintain even soil temperatures.
#6 Sweep Up, Don?t Hose Down
Use a broom instead of a hose to clean off sidewalks, driveways and other hardscapes.
#7 Plant Winter-Growth Gardens
Use plants that grow in the winter when there?s moisture, rather than summer growers that require lots of water. Most plants and bulbs that are native to Mediterranean climates including Western Australia, the western coast of Chile, the Cape area of South Africa, California and of course, the entire Mediterranean basin are good bets for water conserving gardens.
#8 Collect Runoff Water
Keep runoff water on the property with French drains, swales or sumps, which contain water in a designated area and help to better manage water use. These systems also help filter pollutants and increase rainwater soil infiltration.
#9 Stop Using So Much Fertilizer
By all means, limit the use of fertilizers, which are not good for the environment and may cause damage to plant life. Most Mediterranean plants reject fertilizers, so plant selection is critical.
#10 Misuse of Water and Fertilizers May Attract Pests
Fertilizers and overwatering can cause overly lush growth, which can attract pests and diseases.
This month, the Northern California chapter of the International Mediterranean Garden Society will showcase some of the Bay Area landscaping installation work of Chris Jacobson. The gardens on this tour feature stylish substitutes for the usual front lawn. Instead of mown grass, Jacobson uses the much more drought tolerant Mediterranean-climate ornamental grasses and carexes, along with drought tolerant shrubs and ground covers, often set in stone paving or gravel. Although the garden tour is restricted to members of the society, photographs of drought sensitive gardens can be viewed on Jacobson?s website http://www.gardenartgroup.com.
About Chris Jacobson and the GardenArt Group
Chris Jacobson began creating Bay Area landscape designs in the early 1970s while pursuing a career in the fine arts. He eventually fused the two pursuits into one concept, GardenArt. A fourth-generation California horticulturist, Chris has been one of the proponents of the New California Garden, an emerging movement that combines environmentalism, multi-culturalism and art.
Jacobson is a member of the Northern California chapter of the International Mediterranean Garden Society advisory board. The Society provides a means for gardeners of these unique climates to exchange information concerning their specific gardening needs, the most pressing being water conservation.
Jacobson?s work has been featured in Sunset, Country Homes and Gardens, Architectural Digest, Northern California Home and Garden and Peg Streep?s zen gardeners guidebook Spiritual Gardening. He has also penned his own horticulture care and design handbook, A Different Shade of Green: Manual for The New California Garden.

Solar Power And Global Warming
Who wouldn?t want to get a lifetime supply of free electricity? Well, that can be realized only if you install a dependable and durable solar power system. Solar power is free but only after the installation of the power system. Conventional electricity comes from the burning of fossil fuels that in turn contribute to global warming. The effects of global warming are quite evident nowadays. Many people are now interested in saving the environment to prevent the devastating effects of pollution. One way to decrease pollution and environmental concerns is through the use of solar power.
Solar power can be used in different ways especially in households. You can use it for lighting, for cooking, for heating the house, and many others. Utility bills are very expensive and you can cut it down by installing a solar power system. The system has solar panels that collect sunlight and converts the energy of the sun into electricity. You can readily use the electricity or it can be stored in the batteries.
The sun?s raw energy can?t be used to power homes and it needs to be converted first through the inverter. If you have a solar powered house, you can make use of renewable and clean electricity. Even if you can?t cut off your traditional electrical supply, you will be able to reduce the consumption thereby helping the environment. Electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels that contribute to pollution and global warming. The supply of fossil fuels is also decreasing and the world might face electricity shortage soon if they don?t conserve energy. It would be best to start using solar power now.
Through the efforts of SEPA (Solar Electric Power Association), the public is made aware of the many benefits of solar powered homes. This is the best time to make substantial efforts to save the environment. Solar power can?t possibly replace conventional energy sources today but who knows. If the technological advancements can help in the enhancement of solar power systems, perhaps in the near future the whole world can go green.
Pollution is widespread and it poses a great threat to the world. By reducing traditional electricity consumption, you can also lessen pollution. Solar power can provide clean, renewable, and free electricity. It doesn?t produce harmful emissions. You can enjoy free electricity as long as the system is working properly and as long as the sun rises.
The solar power systems are not that expensive these days. In fact, you already get a solar power kit for as low as $ 200. Still, the large solar panels are expensive. The federal government in the US offers incentives, loans, grants, rebates, and other financial options to help homeowners in installing a power system. Take advantage of these financial options so that you can start helping the environment.
Solar powersystems can serve your home for about twenty years when properly maintained. It?s like an entire lifetime if you start now. If every home around the world patronizes solar power, global warming can be greatly reduced and Mother Nature can heal herself. Try to learn more about solar power and if you can afford to install a system at home or in the office, don?t hesitate because you?re doing the world a favor and you also get a lot of benefits.

Manila Earthquake – Earthquake Philippines, 2010 Manila Earthquake
: A 6.2-magnitude earthquake shook Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon past noon Thursday, state seismologists said. That earthquake caused buildings in Metro Manila to shake for about 30 seconds. Scared workers fled buildings and went out into the streets fearing that buildings may collapse.
Eleanor, a worker in a downtown Manila Hotel said, “The building was shaking back and forth as we were on the 10th floor. We ran down the stairs and outside as we thought it was going to fall on us.” No damage is being reported at this time but residents of Manila and bordering Bulacan were clearly shaken. Seismology institute representatives say this size earthquake would not cause significant damage and that the quake was centered near Lubang Island in Mindoro Occidental Province.
That puts the epicenter about 0 miles southwest of Manila. The U.S., Geological Survey said the quake had a magnitude of 6.1 and was at a depth of 21 miles. The last time a major Earthquake hit the Philippines was in 1990 and the 7.1 magnitude quake was responsible for over 2,000 deaths.
The quake was felt at intensity V in Looc, Lubang Island in Occidental Mindoro; intensity IV in Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Makati, and Clark, Pampanga; and intensity II in Bagac, Bataan and Canlubang, Laguna, Phivolcs said.
Aftershocks are expected, although the quake is not expected to generate tsunamis because “it was not too strong,” Phivolcs added.
According to a separate report from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake, which occurred at 1:29 p.m., measured at magnitude 6.1, with an epicenter traced off Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro.
